eTenders is National Treasury's central noticeboard for public procurement. National departments, all nine provinces, metros and local municipalities, and state-owned companies like Eskom, Transnet and SANRAL publish their adverts there. If a tender is advertised anywhere in South African government, it very often appears on eTenders first.

What it does not do is tell you which of those adverts is worth your time. It is a publication system, so the burden of checking sits with you, every working day, against a list that does not know what your business does. That is the gap most suppliers lose tenders in: not on price, but by finding the advert on day eleven of a fourteen day window, after the compulsory briefing has already been held.
