South African Forestry Company Limited
The South African Forestry Company (SAFCOL) manages around 190,000 hectares of state plantation forests, mostly through its Komatiland Forests operations in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal. Its tenders reflect that footprint: silviculture services (planting, weeding, pruning), harvesting and short-haul timber transport, firebreak preparation and firefighting services, road maintenance inside plantations, plant and equipment hire, sawmill supplies and maintenance, security, and community-linked enterprise development contracts.

SAFCOL work is operational and rural, so bids are often evaluated on demonstrated forestry experience, equipment lists and safety compliance alongside price. FSC certification requirements and strict environmental rules apply inside certified plantations. As a state-owned company, SAFCOL requires the standard pack: CSD registration, SARS tax compliance and B-BBEE documents, and it runs local-enterprise programmes that favour businesses from plantation communities.
SAFCOL adverts appear on the eTenders portal in batches through the year. TenderFinder picks them up daily and can email you the moment new forestry work is published. Create a free account to see every live SAFCOL tender in full below.
