The Ethekwini Metropolitan Municipality is inviting bids for the upgrade of TRK 74201 and Phase 01 of TRK 74200 from gravel to asphalt in Ward 07, Outer West, Durban. The project involves site clearance, concrete works, earthworks, layerworks, stormwater drainage, asphalt roadwork, protection works, and services relocation. Scope of work

• Upgrade of approximately 240m of TRK 72401 and 170m of TRK 74200 from gravel to a formalised hardened pavement structure.(BRA 543.06.26 Upgrade of TRK 742..., section 1 PROJECT TITLE)
• Includes site clearance, concrete works (mass concrete, grade 25/19 MPa concrete base, driveways), earthworks and layerworks (cut to fill, road formation, subbase and base layers).
• Stormwater drainage construction, asphalt roadwork (5.0m wide road with 40mm AC - Sa-S14), and protection works (reno mattress, gabion boxes).
• Services include proving and relocation of existing services (electricity and water).

Important requirements

• Principal Contractors must submit proof of Good Standing with CODA Commissioner or a Mutual Association licensed in terms of Section 30 of COIDA before commencing work.(SSHSS 543.06.26 upgrade of TRK 742..., section 6. COMPENSATION FOR OCCUPATIONAL INJURIES AND DISEASES ACT)
