Appointment of a service provider for the implementation of the Runway Occupancy and Alerting System (ROAST), including design, supply, installation, commissioning, training, and support services at designated ATNS sites

Air Traffic and Navigation Services Company Limited (ATNS) is inviting proposals for the implementation of the Runway Occupancy and Alerting System (ROAST). This project includes the design, supply, installation, commissioning, training, and ongoing support services for the ROAST system at designated ATNS sites nationwide. A compulsory briefing session will be held on 17 November 2026. Proposals must be submitted by 14:00 on 22 January 2027. The delivery location for any awarded contract will be ATNS Company Limited, Eastgate Office Park, Block C, Bruma, Johannesburg. This is a Request for Proposal procurement method.

• Implementation of the Runway Occupancy and Alerting System (ROAST), including design, supply, installation, commissioning, training, and support services.

• System design and testing for the ROAST system.(Copy of Volume 1C.xlsx, sheet G1 SUMMARY)
• ROAST software development and hardware provision.(Copy of Volume 1C.xlsx, sheet G1 SUMMARY)
• Provision of miscellaneous items and services related to the ROAST system.(Copy of Volume 1C.xlsx, sheet G1 SUMMARY)

• Integration, Testing, and Implementation includes VCS Integration, Verification Testing, Validation Testing, and Site Acceptance Testing.(Copy of Volume 1C.xlsx, sheet G3_1 System Design and Testing)
• ROAST Hardware includes Hardware components, PCBs and fabrication, Processors and/or controllers, Interfaces, and Enclosures.(Copy of Volume 1C.xlsx, sheet G3.2 ROAST Development)
• ROAST Software Development includes Embedded/Firmware Development, Application Software Development, and Model training data.(Copy of Volume 1C.xlsx, sheet G3.2 ROAST Development)
