South African Nuclear Energy Corporation Limited (Necsa) is seeking a professional engineering services firm to design and manage the modification of an existing structure for a Radioiodine Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) facility. The facility will produce non-sterile I-131 API in liquid form and must comply with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines. The scope includes professional engineering and project management services for stages 1-6, excluding the hot cell production line. Bidders must submit a traceability matrix and adhere to Necsa's SHEQ policies. The tender closes on 16 September 2026 at 11:00. A non-compulsory site meeting will be held on 26 August 2026.

Scope of work

• Provision of professional engineering and project management services (Stages 1-6) for the modification of an existing structure for the establishment of a Radioiodine Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) facility.
• Development of fully compliant and detailed facility design and specification documents for construction, and provision of construction cost estimations, project management and oversight services.
• Validation and qualification of all quality-critical systems (Design Qualification (DQ), Installation Qualification (IQ), and Operation Qualification (OQ)).
