APPOINTMENT OF A SUPPLIER TO PROVIDE AD-HOC TECHNICAL AND REMEDIATION FOR THE HVAC UNITS, FIRE SUPPRESSION, AND UPS IN UMJHANTSHI HOUSE DATA CENTRE FOR A PERIOD OF SIX (6) MONTHS ON AN AS-AND-WHEN-REQUIRED BASIS

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) is seeking a qualified supplier to provide ad-hoc technical and remediation services for the HVAC units, fire suppression systems, and UPS in the Umjantsi House Data Centre. This contract is for a period of six months, operating on an as-and-when-required basis. The services aim to ensure the data centre remains safe, reliable, and continuously operational by addressing recent operational challenges and equipment failures. Bidders must demonstrate at least three years of experience in similar services and provide CVs for qualified technicians. Submissions must be made electronically via the SAP Ariba Business Network before the closing date of 30 September 2026 at 10:00 AM.

Scope of work

• Provide repair, maintenance, diagnostics, remediation, and optimisation services for HVAC units, fire suppression systems, and UPS in the Umjantsi House Data Centre.
• Inspect, test, and repair UPS systems, including batteries, bypass systems, rectifiers, inverters, and control circuits.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on fire suppression systems, including detection devices, control panels, and suppression cylinders.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics for cooling systems, including down-blower units and InRow Coolers.
• Assign suitably qualified technicians, respond to service requests promptly, and comply with occupational health and safety requirements.(SCOPE OF WORK FOR THE Provision of..., section 3.4 General Requirements)
• Provide ad-hoc technical support, maintenance, repairs, and remediation for UPS, HVAC, and Fire Suppression Systems for six months.

• Submit proposals electronically via the SAP Ariba Business Network only. Upload all required bid documents before the closing date and time.
• Pricing is only allowed under Section 13 of the Pricing Schedule on SAP Ariba. Failure to comply will lead to automatic disqualification.
