TENDER: APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF EXTERNAL WORKS AND ASSOCIATED HARD AND SOFT LANDSCAPING AT THE IZIKO NELSON MANDELA PRISON HOUSE IN PAARL.

What this tender is about

Iziko Museums of Cape Town is seeking a service provider for the construction of external works and associated hard and soft landscaping at the Nelson Mandela Prison House in Paarl, Western Cape. The site is a Grade I National Heritage Site, and all work must be conducted with due care as prescribed by the National Heritage Resources Act. The tender involves both internal house garden landscaping and grounds upgrade civil and external works. Scope of work

• Construction of external works including hard and soft landscaping at the Nelson Mandela Prison House.

Important requirements

• All work must be undertaken with the appropriate duty of care as prescribed by the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999. A SAHRA permit has been obtained and all activities must be conducted with heightened caution and sensitivity.(Copy of NMPH Part 1 & Part 2_TENDE..., sheet SUMMARY)
• Contractors are responsible for familiarising themselves with underground services and taking necessary precautions to avoid damage.(Copy of NMPH Part 1 & Part 2_TENDE..., sheet SUMMARY)
• Tender rates must be completed to allow for any part or quantities to be removed or significantly reduced.(Copy of NMPH Part 1 & Part 2_TENDE..., sheet SUMMARY)
