HSRC is in the process of appointing a Panel of suppliers for printing of books for its offices in the Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban region for 24 months

The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is seeking to appoint a Panel of suppliers for the printing of books. This service is required for HSRC offices located in the Cape Town, Pretoria, and Durban regions for a period of 24 months. The appointed service providers will offer Litho and Digital printing (Print on Demand) services. Bidders must meet mandatory requirements including a minimum of 5 years' experience in printing books and specialist print products, possess both litho and digital printing machinery, and be able to fulfil specific print run quantities and delivery turnaround times. The evaluation will be based on a 80/20 Preference Point System, considering price and specific goals, followed by functionality and a site inspection. Proposals are due by 3 September 2026.

Scope of work

• Provide Litho & Digital printing (Print on Demand) services for HSRC Press books.
• Print Production Specifications include book/poster/banner size, material type, binding method, cover finishes, CMYK printing capability, and PDF print-ready file submission.
• Supply proofs (hardcopy or digital) for approval before final print production.
• Despatch consignments with proper packaging and deliver to designated addresses within Cape Town or other areas in the country.
