APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER TO PROVIDE A SHORT LEARNING PROGRAMME ON TRAIN THE TRAINER

What this tender is about

The Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) is inviting proposals for a service provider to deliver a Short Learning Programme on Train the Trainer. This training aims to equip subject matter experts and internal facilitators with essential teaching skills to effectively train their peers, ensuring consistency and quality across HSRC offices. The programme should cover adult learning principles, communication, module design, learner engagement, classroom management, and evaluation. The training will be delivered in person over two days per cohort during October/November 2026 to approximately 15 staff members from HSRC offices in Pretoria, Cape Town, and Sweetwaters. Bidders must demonstrate at least 5 years of experience in Train the Trainer programmes and provide a company profile. The facilitator must have a post-graduate qualification (NQF 9) and 5 years of relevant experience, supported by a CV. Proposals will be evaluated on experience, methodology, and facilitator capacity, using an 80/20 preference point system. The closing date for submissions is 31 August 2026.

Scope of work

• Provide training materials (e.g. slides, handouts, videos, exercises, assessments) that are logical, appropriate, and culturally sensitive.
• Provide highly interactive, experiential and engaging sessions in person.
• Conduct a pre-training needs assessment and post-training evaluation.
• Submit a comprehensive training report with recommendations for ongoing support or follow-up training.
• Deliver training over 2 days per cohort during October/November 2026.
