REQUEST FOR QUOTATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF THE ASSESSMENT GUIDELINES AND EXEMPLAR PAPERS (Please refer to Annexure attached for detailed specification)

What this tender is about

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is inviting small businesses to submit quotations for the development of assessment guidelines and exemplar papers. This project focuses on the GETC: Mining & Minerals qualification, specifically for the vocational specialisation streams. The scope includes creating exemplar assessment tasks, instruments, marking memorandums, assessment rubrics, and mapping documents. All developed materials must comply with Umalusi assessment requirements and SAQA-registered unit standards. Tenderers will be evaluated based on relevant experience, subject expertise, assessment development experience, and cost. Quotations must be submitted electronically by 11:00 on 21 October 2026. All intellectual property developed will belong to the MQA.

Scope of work

• Develop assessment materials for the GETC: Mining & Minerals qualification, including Fundamental, Core, and Vocational Specialisation components.
• Create exemplar assessment tasks, assessment instruments, marking memorandums, assessment rubrics, and assessment mapping documents for each Unit Standard.
• Ensure all developed materials are aligned to registered Unit Standards, meet Umalusi quality assurance requirements, and follow principles of fairness, validity, and reliability.
• Provide materials in editable Microsoft Word format.
