What this tender is about

The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation Limited (Necsa) is seeking a qualified Service Provider to offer comprehensive Fall Protection Planning Services for its decommissioning projects over a 36-month period. This includes developing and implementing Fall Protection Plans (FPPs), conducting risk assessments, identifying control measures, recommending Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specifying fall prevention and arrest systems, and designing safety equipment. The service provider will also be responsible for developing rescue plans, method statements, and providing on-site training and competency development for Necsa personnel. Bids must be submitted by 11:00 on 14 October 2026. The tender is subject to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and General Conditions of Contract.

Scope of work

• Develop and implement Fall Protection Plans (FPPs) for Necsa decommissioning projects.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify fall hazards for work-at-height activities.
• Recommend appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and specify fall prevention/arrest systems.
• Design and specify anchor points, lifeline systems, guardrail systems, and roof edge protection.
• Compile detailed, practical, and site-specific rescue plans for work-at-height activities.
• Provide on-site, competency-based training for Necsa personnel on safe working at heights.

How to submit

• Bid responses must be deposited in the bid box at Necsa Gate 3, R104 Elias Motsoaledi Street (Church Street West Ext), Pelindaba, 0240.
• The physical size of the Bid Response must be limited to 400mm x 100mm x 150mm.
• International suppliers may submit bids via email to [contact on the official notice]
• Technical Proposal must be submitted in Envelope One (hard copies and electronic copy), with no pricing information.
• Pricing Proposal must be submitted in Envelope Two (hard copies and electronic copy), including all compulsory returnable documents.
• All bids must be submitted by the closing date and time. Late bids will not be accepted.
