What this tender is about

The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation Limited (Necsa) is inviting bids for the supply and delivery of Medium Grade Vermiculite and Vermiculite Cement Mixture. This contract is for a period of 36 months. Bidders must comply with Necsa's technical specifications and policies. The bid closes on 14 October 2026 at 11:00 am. Submissions must be made to the bid box at Necsa Gate 3, R104 Elias Motsoaledi Street, Pelindaba. This tender is subject to the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and other relevant regulations. Bidders are required to submit all mandatory documents, including tax compliance and B-BBEE status.

Scope of work

• Supply and deliver medium grade vermiculite and vermiculite/cement mixture for the Medium Active effluent concentrate solidification process at Necsa’s Liquid Effluent Management Services (LEMS).
• Deliveries will be intermittent and subject to production schedules at other facilities.
• The bidder must demonstrate compliance with LE-PUR-0001 PURCHASE SPECIFICATION FOR MEDIUM GRADE VERMICULITE AND VERMICULITE CEMENT MIXTURE and participate in a test run with prototype drums.
• The bidder shall identify and include any perceived omissions essential for meeting the overall objectives into their pricing.

How to submit

• Bid documents must be deposited in the bid box situated at Necsa Gate 3, R104 Elias Motsoaledi Street (Church Street West Ext), Pelindaba.
• The physical size of the Bid Response must be limited to 400mm x 100mm x 150mm.
• Technical Proposal must be submitted in Envelope One (one original and three copies, plus one electronic copy). No pricing information in Envelope One.
• Pricing Proposal must be submitted in Envelope Two (one original and one copy, plus one electronic copy). All compulsory returnable documents must be included in Envelope Two.
• All costing and information must be typed and signed by the bidder; no hand written costing/ pricing will be accepted.
• Late bid submissions will not be considered.
